I answered this in my intro, but to give a bit more detail. My mother has always watched Soaps. I remember one summer, her favorite show just suddenly stopped airing. No warning, no nothing, just stopped! So, she went searching for a new show to watch. Now, this was back in the day before remotes...so there she stood turning the knob on the TV and she came across Days and stopped to watch a really sweet and tender scene between Doug Williams and his young daughter Hope (who btw, was about my age or a bit younger at that time). Both of us were intrigued. She began watching daily and has since 1975. I watched before going to school and on all my school breaks! After school while mom was fixing dinner, she would tell me what happened that day and I would tell her about school.
Finally, in the mid-80's we were able to afford a VCR and I finally could tape the shows while at school and watch them when I got home. Haven't missed a show except for technical difficulties or during that terrible Marlena possession storyline since!
